Question mapping links each question to the right place, so feedback reaches the right manager and is easier to understand and act on. Some pulse survey questions relate to the organisation, while others are about a specific team.
All pulse questions come with a default mapping, so you’re ready to go from day one.
Example questions
| Organisation context | Team question context |
| eNPS - "How likely are you to recommend working at [company name] to a friend or an acquaintance?" | "I trust my manager." |
| Bullying and discrimination - "I am free from bullying at the workplace." | "I am able to complete my work tasks in time." |
| "I understand the organisation's overall vision and purpose." | "I am free to express my opinions in my team." |
Why context matters
An organisation question isn’t linked to any specific team, so the employee only answers it once per survey, from a company-wide perspective.
A team question, on the other hand, is tied to a specific team. If the employee is part of multiple teams, they’ll answer the question once for each team. They can clearly see which team the question relates to.
💡How it works
Emma works on the marketing team and is also part of two different project teams: the Project team and the Event team.
When she answers the pulse survey:
Organisation-level questions are answered once, and those responses go to Emma’s direct reporting manager.
Team questions are asked once per team — once for Marketing and once for the Project team. The responses go directly to each team.
Since the Event team isn’t included as a recipient in this survey, Emma won’t receive any questions related to that team.
This lets the whole project team access valuable insights into temperature, comments, and trends — just like any other team.
Who sees the results?
Survey results are shared with the manager responsible for the context.
- Team questions go to the manager of each relevant team – whether it’s a Core or Flex team.
- Organisational questions go to the employee’s Core team manager.
What about employees?
Core and Flex teams work the same way. The employees can filter Temperature page to see temperature data for each team.
Changing the question mapping
You can adjust the mapping if needed, just make sure it matches your organisation’s structure to avoid survey fatique. Some questions, like eNPS and bullying & discrimination, are locked to the organisation context and can’t be changed.
- Click on Employee surveys
- Click on Question library
- Click on Question mapping
- Click on the dropdown menu next to a question and select Team or Organisation.
💡 Focus surveys
Question mapping doesn’t apply to Focus surveys. All questions are sent to the selected recipients, no matter which team they belong to or what the question is about.
