Use question logic in your Focus surveys

Use question logic in your focus surveys to show follow-up questions only when they are relevant, based on the selected answer. Respondents see all questions up to the one with question logic. After that, only relevant follow-up questions are shown.

This helps you collect more valuable insights while keeping the survey concise and easy to complete.

Example

You are setting up a focus survey to collect feedback after the annual kickoff. To ensure only relevant feedback is collected, start the survey with:

Did you attend the kickoff?

  • Yes → Show follow-up questions.

  • No → End the survey.

If the respondent answers Yes, you can proceed with more detailed follow-up questions. For example, ask:

How satisfied were you with the kickoff?

  • Very satisfied / Satisfied → Show follow-up questions about what worked well.

  • Neutral / Dissatisfied → Show follow-up questions about what could be improved.

Supported question types

Question logic is available for the following question types:

  • Single-choice questions.
  • Smiley questions.
