Reply to comments

Conversations is Winningtemp's anonymous chat feature. It lets the responsible manager or System Administrator reply directly to a comment an employee has left on a survey or a daily question, so employees feel heard and get the chance to ask a follow-up question or simply say thanks.

How anonymity works

The employee is always anonymous — you'll never see who you're replying to. You, on the other hand, are never anonymous: your name is always fully visible, so the employee always knows who's responding to them.

You can see comments from the teams you're responsible for, and usually from any underlying teams too. In general, you're expected to reply to comments from your own direct reports.

What does the employee see?

The employee won't see your reply until you send it. Once you do, they'll find it under Conversations in their side menu, where they can read your response and add more context if they want to continue the conversation.

Comments start out as free-text answers employees add alongside their survey score, or through a daily question — see Add comment to your survey response for how it works for your employees.

Here's an example. The manager replying is Anna Svensson — the employee stays anonymous, but can see that Anna is the one who answered.

Tips for replying to comments

  • Try to reply to as many comments as you can – it shows people their feedback is being taken seriously.
  • If a short reply is enough, use one of the quick replies to say thanks.
  • Stay curious. Ask a follow-up question, such as "Could you tell me a bit more about what you mean?", to understand the feedback better.
  • If a comment is about something outside your area, let the person know how you'll take it further.
  • Avoid replying in the heat of the moment – take a moment to reflect on the comment before you respond.

By meeting all feedback with curiosity and appreciation, you strengthen psychological safety in your team.
