Why managers love AI Conversation

Get the context behind the numbers

Instead of wondering what caused a score to rise or fall, AI Conversation asks your team intelligent follow-up questions and uncovers the themes driving your results.

Save time on analysis

No manual interpretation of comments or lengthy reports. AI Conversation summarises feedback into clear team-level insights and highlights what needs attention.

Know where to start

The AI identifies priorities and suggests actions with high impact and low effort, so you can act faster and with greater confidence.

Build trust through anonymity

Your team can share their experiences openly. Insights are anonymised and provided at team level, giving you the context you need while protecting employee privacy.

How it works

  1. Spot a topic
Review your team's temperature data and pick a category or score you want to understand better.
  2. Start a conversation
Invite your team to a confidential, anonymous AI Conversation. The AI holds an individual 10 minute chat with each team member.
  3. Let the AI listen
Your team is notified by email and in the app. Each person chats directly with the AI, which asks open-ended follow-up questions based on their answers.
  4. Act on insights
When the conversation closes, you receive an anonymised synthesis with key themes, shared concerns, positive highlights, and prioritised actions.

AI Conversation is built on the same science-based research that powers Winningtemp's pulse surveys, so the results are reliable and grounded in the same framework.

Get started in three steps

Step 1: Choose an area to explore

Start from your team's temperature data. Pick a topic, category, or score where you want a deeper understanding of your team's experience. A good first pick is a category that has recently changed, or one your team talks about but you can't quite pin down.

Step 2: Create and launch the conversation

  1. Go to Employee surveys and select Surveys.
  2. Click Create survey and select Get started under AI Conversation.
  3. Enter a name, date, and duration, then click Next.
  4. Select a question category and click Next.
  5. Select the recipients. The system checks that the team meets the anonymity threshold.
  6. Give the AI some context about your team's main goal or mission. This helps it ask more relevant follow-up questions.
  7. Click Review, check the summary, and click Launch survey.

Tip: Before launching, you can preview and test the AI Conversation experience and send a test email to yourself. If your team needs more time, you can extend the closing date while the conversation is active: go to Employee surveys, open the Mailing tab, select Sent, click the three-dot menu next to the survey, and choose Edit closing date.

Step 3: Review the results and act with your team

  1. Go to Results & analysis and click Survey results.
  2. Find your AI Conversation in the list and click it.
  3. Once the response window has closed and the anonymity threshold is met, generate the synthesis. It includes a summary overview, key themes across all conversations, and recommended actions tailored to your team.
  4. Share the themes and actions back with your team. Working through the results together closes the feedback loop and shows employees that their input leads to something.

To get a shareable summary, open the survey, click Report and then Generate report. Choose which sections to include and their order. The report appears shortly under Recent downloads in your profile menu.

What your team experiences

Each team member receives an anonymous invitation to a text-based chat with the AI. The conversation takes around 10 minutes. The AI asks thoughtful, open-ended follow-up questions, and team members can skip any question they prefer not to answer. Before submitting, they see an anonymised summary of their own feedback and can approve it.

For your team, this means:

  • A safe and anonymous way to share experiences
  • An opportunity to explain the reasons behind survey results
  • More meaningful conversations between you and the team
  • Faster actions based on their feedback
  • Greater confidence that feedback leads to real change

How anonymity is protected

  • You never see individual responses. All input is aggregated before anything is shown to you.
  • Identifying details are removed. The AI is designed to strip personal or identifying details before the text is processed.
  • There is an anonymity threshold. By default, a synthesis is only generated once at least 5 unique team members have participated. If the team is too small, AI Conversation will not be available for it.

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take for my team?

Each conversation takes around 10 minutes, and team members can complete it on their desktop whenever it suits them during the response window.

Can I see what an individual person said?

No. You only receive aggregated themes, insights, and recommended actions. Individual conversations are never shown to anyone.

What if my team is too small?

AI Conversation requires at least 5 unique participants before a synthesis is generated. If your team is below the threshold, the option will not be available when selecting recipients. Talk to your HR admin about running it at a larger group level.

Can I test it before my team gets it?

Yes. In the review step of the setup you can preview the experience and send a test email to yourself or to HR.

What if not enough people have answered yet?

You can extend the closing date of an active AI Conversation from the Mailing tab under Employee surveys to give your team more time.

How reliable are the insights?

AI Conversation uses the same science-based framework as Winningtemp's pulse surveys, and the synthesis is built only from your team's actual conversations.
