The Periodic surveys tab on the Temperature page shows results one round at a time. Review your latest survey, compare it with the previous round, and track progress over time.
Select survey type
At the top of the Temperature page, you'll see two tabs: Pulse surveys and Periodic surveys. Which one opens first is set by the System Administrator under Administration > System & templates > Temperature > General > Select default survey type.
Select a survey round and filter the results
- Select a round from the Survey sendout dropdown.
- Choose a team or segment from the Team or Segment dropdown. Note that only teams included in the survey mailing are available to select here, even if you have access to more teams.
- Filter by age or employment time using the chips above the results to view a specific group.
- Check the status chip to see whether the round is Open or Closed.
Accessing data while the round is open
The full analysis only appears after the round ends, so you can be confident that what you see is complete and ready to act on. System Administrators can see partial figures in the meantime, including Total temperature, eNPS, and Response rate, to confirm the send-out is working as expected.
When the survey round is closed
Once the round closes and your System Administrator publishes the results, the page gives you a clear starting point for reflection and action. You'll see:
- Highest 3 and Lowest 3 categories, so you can see your priority focus areas straight away.
- For each category: the score and the change since the previous round, shown as an absolute number with an up or down icon. You may also see highlights such as Most improved or Most declined.
- A benchmark tooltip on the temperature with the largest positive or negative deviation from the selected benchmark during that round. A negative deviation (shown in red) means your score is below the benchmark, while a positive deviation (shown in green) means your score is above it.
How to compare survey rounds
With periodic surveys, you can compare temperature data between rounds to track how they have shifted since the last survey. This makes it easy to spot real progress, catch declines early, and decide where to focus next.
Select a survey round to see how temperature data and response rate have changed since the last round:
- Temperature data: Each closed periodic survey round is compared to the previous closed round of the same survey. The comparison shows the absolute change in temperature on a 1-10 scale
-
Response rate: is measured as a percentage.
💡 Examples
- Temperature example: +0.3 means the score moved up by 0.3 points since the last round. See image below.
- Response rate: +4% means the response rate increased by 4 percentage points since the previous round. See image below.
What happens if a round is reopened
If a system administrator reopens a closed round and later closes it again, the round-over-round comparison recalculates automatically with the new data. The summary email has also been resent, so your team knows the results have been updated. Read more about the summary email: Periodic surveys: summary email.
Insights
Head to the insights page to explore stress signals, deviations, and other highlights from that round.
If your organisation also runs Pulse surveys, those continue to generate insights as normal. The two are kept separate, so it's easy to find what you're looking for. Read more: Explore team insights.
Customise the periodic surveys page
Click the customise icon on the Periodic surveys tab to change what you see on the page. Tick the sections you want to show on your overview. Your choices are saved to your own profile, so they stay personal to you. Any sections you hide are still available in the detailed views.
